Becoming an Otago Angel
Membership is by invitation. There is no membership fee but members are expected to maintain a reasonable level of activity each year by reviewing email material circulated by the Network Manager concerning investment projects and events, participating in network meetings, assisting with screening investment projects and performing due diligence and investing in those projects that fit their preferences, interests, experience and investment portfolios. To invest in projects Angels must, at the time of investment, meet the exemption/eligibility conditions set down in the Securities Act 1978 Sections 2 and 3.
A major advantage in belonging to Otago Angels is that members will have the benefit of each other’s ideas, assessments, and friendship. Two or three members might enjoy co-investing and working together on a given company.
The objective of investment events arranged by the network is to make initial introductions with a view to having interested parties subsequently meet in private and make decisions on projects. There are no agents, brokers, or institutional representatives. Angels invest their own capital – not other people’s money.
Potential Angels should make contact with us via the Contact tab or directly to one of the management group listed in the About section of this website.
Angel members are encouraged to invite other people who could become Angels to make contact to discuss membership.
